Lost Boys Collective:

Jul 2015

When you blend Paris, Philadelphia, Alex Olson, Brian Anderson, Kevin Bradley and Sean Pablo into a clip set to the song of ‘Bettie Davis Eyes’ it’s going to produce fantastic results. Especially when William Strobeck is behind the lens and on the edit boards. So without further ado, Swoosh.

“To me skateboarding and motorcycles and surfing it’s all the same thing. It’s all about getting together with your friends and doing something fun…..” Words that embrace everything thing that Lost Boys Collective are all about summed up by Chase Stopnik. ‘Les Armes Du Plaisir’ starring Chase Stopnik talks about life and art and how the two intertwine for Desillusion Magazine.

There couldn’t be a more apt time to release a video called Vicious Chill. As New Zealand faces some of it’s coldest temps on record, Billabong serves up a little warmth to make hunkering down that little bit sweeter.

It’s been a little while since we’ve been blessed with a part from Austyn Gillette. Fast, smooth skating and incredible pop always make for good watching and is a style that will be forever timeless. This week saw the drop of his first signature for HUF and as is becoming…

We are lucky enough to call this wonderful country of ours home. Each year over two million people come to explore all that New Zealand has to offer. Some of those people included Creed McTaggart, Dave Rastovich, Tyler Warren, along with photographer Duncan Macfarlane, and filmer Toby Cregan.

One of the longest rights in the world J-Bay is about to get worked over by the hoards of the WSL. Before the circus comes to town Ricardo Christie and Jay Davies had a little jaunt on the fast moving faces. No trip to South Africa would be complete without some wildlife sightings, whether they are wanted or unwanted.

Heath Kirchart would have to be in nearly everybody’s top something of skaters, and certainly one of ours. House of Hammers have put together this epic montage of clips from Heath’s career as they induct him into their ‘Hall of Fame’.

Not only did Heath Kirchart do things that were unimaginable for the times, he did them with much grace. He is one of the very few that look correct skating a hand rail. This is a very difficult thing to do. When I asked Joey Sinko to do this edit I chose two Nirvana songs, because Heath’s skating is really reminiscent of Cobain to me.
