Narrowing down a top five from a years worth of videos can be quite the challenge. For 2015 we were blessed with a few standouts to make it that much easier. So without further ado, the Lost Boys 2015 Top 5.

From 5 – 1.

Number Five: Octopus Is Real

It’s fast, it’s loud and it saw the launch of the new surf brand Octopus Is Real. A lesson in how to step out into the world.

Number Four: Cultivate Vol 1

Always pushing the boundaries and bringing something new to the game Cult continued that motto with Cultivate.

Number Three : A Fisherman’s Son

The story of Ramón Navarro and how he came from a small fishing village in Chile to become one of the most respected big wave surfers and coastal ambassadors.

Number Two: The Cinder Cone.

Foster Huntington realised every kids dream building the ultimate treehouse with adjacent bowl in the picturesque setting of Skamania, Washington.

Number One: Boys Of Summer

Produced by Jeff Kutter and Charles, Boys Of Summer lived up to every ounce of hype. With a roll call too big to name, this nearly hour long video gave everyone a reason to go out and skate.

From 2005 to 2015 Vans Syndicate lead the way in collaborations. From the partnerships, the selection of models, the details the became part of each pack, each project offered something new and exciting. Even the boxes were taken into consideration.

For the ten year anniversary, Vans Syndicate organised an evening with Known Gallery showcasing the people, inspiration and all the extras that made the Syndicate program what it is.

A Very Skateboard Christmas 2015

It’s back! A Very Skateboard Christmas will once again set out to get as many underprivileged kids as possible skateboards under the tree this Christmas. After it’s first successful year in 2014 we are keen to see this go even further.

A Very Skateboard Christmas is about giving underprivileged kids the chance to experience skateboarding and all the fun and challenges it has to offer.

We will be collecting and accepting donations of new and good condition skateboard completes and parts from now until mid December. At that time we will build all of the parts into completes and present them to Barnardos children’s charity who will distribute them through their channels to as many kids as possible for Christmas.

This year we have partnered with Barnardos and GiveALittle so if you can help out in even more ways. All money donated will be used to purchase skateboard parts to boost the final numbers.

Plastic Fantastic.

Nearly all of us come in to contact or use plastics in some way everyday, and while they make our lives way, way easier it comes at a cost. Aside from the occasional ramp up of people telling us not to use plastic bags not a lot of thought goes into the long term effects of the amount that goes to waste. Plastic doesn’t really break down the way the metal, paper, wood etc does so whilst some gets recycled the rest tends to make it’s way to the ocean. So much so that there exists ‘garbage patches’ miles and miles out to sea, there is even ‘garbage island’ a huge mass of plastics and debris that has built up from the flow of ocean currents.
‘Plastic Age’ talks with numerous people from scientists to musicians and fashion designers about solutions for turning this waste back into something usable. Using bionic yarn a collective of people are starting to make some of our favourite fashion staples, like jeans from ocean waste.

Teenage Stabbing in Paradise.

At the age of seventeen Sean Pablo has already established himself in the current world of skateboarding. With a ‘section’ in last years Cherry video and part of the recently launched Fucking Awesome team he has since gone on to launch a clothing line ‘PARADISE’ and a ‘zine called “Teenage Stabbing”. Monster Children caught up with Sean to find out more about the last couple of years and what the future holds.

How’s the year looking for you? You recently had some footage in the latest Supreme short video titled “The Red Devil.” You working on any full length parts? Or just skating and see where it goes?

The year is looking good so far. Bill’s video is great, Burzum went really well with the skating. His videos really stand out from everything else out there. Other than that, Logan’s vid is coming soon, but don’t sleep on it! Dropping new clothes very soon, keep on the look out!

Whats up with Logan’s video? Besides being the best human, he’s a ripping skater and all round funny dude. I’m looking forward to this one. Will we see a clip of you trying to surf?

Logan’s video is gonna be dope. It’s just all our friends in one sick video, hopefully I will have some surf clips in there.
